Windows 8 and XDreamerMS

So I did some test before I came to conclusion that it was Windows 8 giving me errors to play, every time I launch the client on my Windows 8 PC I get this error. So, I copied the the V. 1.17 folder with the Client from My Windows 8 PC to my friends Windows 7 PC, and it says server is offline, so I think it is Windows 8 giving me that error. I was wondering if there were any solutions to play this server on Windows 8, or if it was possible for you guys to patch something to make the server Windows 8 compatible. Let me know, Thanks.
